I bet when you taste this, you wouldn't think it's budget! Using a decent store-brand sauce will always work out well when you add some extra flavors. The sausage, peppers, and onions are all you need to add to make a delicious budget meal. A little chicken stock (optional) or even some red wine will elevate it further.

Instructions
1. Prep all ingredients. Cut your onion into medium slices. Do the same with the bell peppers and set aside.
6. While keeping an eye on your veggies, start cutting the sausage ( how you cut them is up to you, but I prefer rounds).
7. Optional: If you are using the chicken broth (or red wine), now is the time to add it to the pot. The liquid will pull up any stuck-on bits and bobs and add to the flavor. Stir for a minute or two.
8. Add in your sliced sausage.
9. Add in the jar of tomato sauce.
10. Bring to a boil, lower the heat to medium-low or low, cover, and simmer for 10- 15 minutes.
Serve with pasta, egg noodles, rice, or my favorite: a sandwich on some Italian bread.
Tips from the kitchen:
You can always add more flavor if you want. Some chopped garlic, wine, etc. But for budget reasons, you can stick to the 4 ingredients and have an awesome-tasting meal!
